Community Cafe #1: Ambassadors vs Influencers, Valentine's day campaigns and more...
In this edition of Community Cafe, we explore the differences between ambassadors and influencers and showcase a few awesome Valentine's day campaigns
Ambassadors vs Influencers: What works better for your brand?
Paid ad spends have been on the rise and are not sustainable…
What if you could figure out a way to grow your brand organically?
Wouldn’t it be awesome if there was a way to leverage the community you’ve already built on Instagram?
What if people in your Instagram community “promoted” and “referred” your brand to their audience?
Yes, we’re talking about Influencer Marketing!
But Influencer Marketing is a very broad term and encompasses ambassadors, influencers, and affiliates…
How do you know if you should go with influencers or brand ambassadors?
Influencers are typically associated with your brand for a shorter duration (one post or a set of posts) and charge per post.
Brand ambassadors on the other hand, are part of your “community” and are associated your brand for a longer period. Brand ambassadors also often accept free gifts, coupons and discounts instead of cash and drive more sales through referrals.
We’ve written at length about the differences here - Influencers vs Ambassadors
Super creative Valentine’s day campaigns
Love is in the air and it’s a perfect time for D2C brands to grow through word of mouth!!!
Here’s how some D2C brands are leveraging Valentine’s day to grow their community on Instagram:
Bummer
Bummer is one of the first brands that come to mind when one thinks of UGC and brand ambassadors!
Bummer is running a contest where 5 lucky couples will win a chance to win a romantic getaway 😍
All they need to do is take a picture with a pair of matching undies from Bummer and tag their hashtag #loveisabummer
This would get them a ton of authentic UGC from their customers and brand ambassadors which they can use on Instagram, their website, and anywhere else (ads etc.). What a masterstroke!Suzy Shier
Suzy Shier, a women’s fashion clothing brand is doing a collab with MFLEURS, a rose and flower box brand to offer a gift card and a box of roses to lucky Instagram followers.
Ekdali, a D2C brand that makes education products for kids, is running a giveaway with Flexibees to educate their community on the benefits of screen-free time for their loved ones!
Lucky winners will win complimentary educational products 😍
Ekdali is also running a campaign leveraging their customers to get UGC during this month of love :)
